It’s time for this weeks fishing report! Please make sure to like our Facebook page if you haven’t already to stay up to date on all things going on here at Natural Nine including any open boat trips we have scheduled!
Overall the Fluke bite has still been slow but definitely improved this past week in and around the bay including some nice sized fish. The Black Sea Bass are still a nuisance when targeting Fluke or Scup(Porgy) and hopefully will be sticking around in the strong numbers we are seeing now until after the season opens at the end of the month. The reports of weakfish have slowed this week as we saw another strong push of fish move in and water traffic increase. If you are going to try and target these elusive fish start your day early with them! Once the boat traffic starts, move on to the next species. There are still strong numbers of nice sized bluefish in the bay still in the 5-8lb class with the occasional 10+lb Gator. The Striped Bass fishing was hot and cold this past week but a number of fish were still landed. The bite near Providence is still ongoing with Pogies, as is a nice early morning topwater bite on the oceanfront off Jamestown. Just a friendly reminder as I saw a couple of people get busted by DEM there is a slot limit on the Striped Bass over 28 inches and LESS then 35inches still only 1 per person in Rhode Island. They are not writing warnings folks…
